Why a separate Seraiki province? (II)

Letter April 16, 2012
In this regard, I have a few questions for the people of Hazara.

SPRING LAKES HAVEN, TX, US: President Asif Ali Zardari has called upon Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to start a consultative process with all political parties with a view to creating a separate Seraiki province. One hopes that the president will also respect and honour the aspirations of the people of Hazara who have been demanding their rights for over 60 years.

In this regard, I have a few questions for the people of Hazara. Why can’t they get their leaders to unite on the suba Hazara issue and present a strong case for it in parliament. The Hazara leadership is busy playing politics at the local level and has failed to represent their people in Islamabad and Peshawar effectively. Why do the Hazaras keep voting for the same old useless politicians? While others are completing the constitutional framework and other paperwork on the Seraiki province, the Hazaras couldn’t even unite on April 12, which is the Shuhada-e-Hazara day to commemorate the occasion.
