Target killings: Four killed, six injured in fresh violence

Two policemen injured in fresh episode of targeted violence in the city.

KARACHI: Violence returned to Karachi early on Sunday morning as three people were killed in incidents of target killing, while six people including two police officers were injured.

In one incident, two people were gunned down near Bait-ul-Mukarram mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal by unidentified armed men riding in a car opened fire on four young men. They were taken to Abbasi Shaheed hospital where two of the injured succumbed to their injuries.

In another incident, unidentified men shot and killed a man near the KPT underpass at Schonn Circle. His body was taken to Jinnah hospital.

One man was killed in a firing incident near Urdu Bazaar in Saddar.

Meanwhile, a police officer deputed to the Central Investigations Department (CID) was shot and injured on I. I. Chundrigar road.

A police mobile parked near the Bin Qasim wireless gate on Superhighway also came under fire from unknown assailants. An officer of the AVCC, Rashid Khan was injured.

One woman was injured in Gulshan-e-Ghazi in a firing incident.

hopeless situation in karachi. it is worse than waziristan. in waziristan when the army operation is over, everyone atleast know who are going to be targeted.(army or their helper) but in karachi even ordinary people are being killed for number game.shame ppp.

Dear ET, Why cant you tell the names of the dead so we could have an idea which sect is the target?
