Inconveniencing ordinary people

Letter April 08, 2012
Security matters can be tackled without having to make the lives of people already living a wretched existence.

KARACHI: According to news reports, pillion riding has been banned in Hangu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stop targeted killings. And mobile phone service has been suspended in the province’s Tank district. My question is that why are ordinary people punished for the actions of criminals and murderers? Surely, security matters can be tackled without having to make the lives of people already living a wretched existence even more miserable.
