Bounty on Hafiz Saeed

Published: April 4, 2012

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: This is with reference to the news item that appeared in your newspaper “Most wanted: $10 million bounty on Hafiz Saeed, says US aide” (April 3). I believe that this is an excellent decision taken by the US government.

As a Pakistani, I fully support this move and urge the authorities to hand over Saeed to the US. We do not need terrorists like him in our country. Rather, we should treasure people like Abdul Sattar Edhi, who have done so much for our country instead of making heroes out of the likes of Saeed.

What a shame! what a shame that we have people with this mindset. US citizen murders our people in broad daylight and they escort him out without a scratch and we are insistent on handing over our people to them. You might not agree with a person’s religious disposition, but at least think like a Pakistani and own your people.

If only USA has acted on time, the terrorists would not have had the time to attack civilized nations. At least now, there is cooperation and willingness to be tough with criminals. Let us wish and congratulate USA for taking a lead.
