LAHORE: I am at a loss to understand why the International Cricket Council (ICC) is treating Pakistan like a pariah and subjecting it to the worst type of apartheid? Firstly, the ICC is ensuring that no foreign team tours Pakistan. Secondly, if at all any country expresses the slightest of interest in touring Pakistan, it ensures that the tour is sabotaged by taking steps, which discourages the country to go ahead with the visit.
Moreover, the ICC has also taken no action against the Indian organisers of the Champions League Twenty20, who had refused to invite the Pakistani Twenty20 champions Sialkot Stallions to the competition. Pakistani cricket fans now want answers from the ICC. Aren’t these actions a form of apartheid being practiced against a major cricketing nation like Pakistan?
I advise the Pakistan Cricket Board to take legal action against the ICC and claim maximum damages for the apartheid that is being practiced against Pakistan.

Negligence of merit in Sindh
While I support the hosting of international matches in Pakistan ( leaving aside the issue of security aside for a moment); I would caution the author not to use words like ‘apartheid’ so liberally. Apartheid is discrimination based on race – and this is certainly not the case as games are being hosted in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka – other brown skin countries.
Secondly, while I have no doubt the Sialkot Stallions are a great team, the IPL remains a Private Franchise (hope the author understand the difference). Let me explain – just like to sell Toyota cars, you need to first sign an agreement to Toyota Co, pay franchise fees to them and adhere to all Toyota policies ( leave alone selling other cars!); Sialkot Stallions first need to sign up as a Franchise of IPL. It is of course up to Toyota to accept a Franchise application or not – same goes with IPL – it may choose to take up new members or not.
To put it even simply, it is a private function, whether to invite you are not is totally up to the hosts!!!

Thanks for your comments Mr. Arindom. However, please note IPL and Champions league are altogether two different tournaments. And the CL tournament is not at all franchise based, it’s an international tournament approved by ICC? Thanks again.
