Protest in Karachi: Nurses gather to express solidarity

Protesters demanded that the government take stern action against the policemen involved in the Karachi riot.

ISLAMABAD: A large number of nurses gathered at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Thursday to express solidarity with their colleagues in Karachi. Nurses in Karachi, while protesting for better wages and perks, were attacked by the police with batons and waterguns on Wednesday. The protesters demanded that the government take stern action against the policemen involved in the Karachi riot. They also urged the government to release the nurses who were arrested during the protest.
