ISLAMABAD:

The police recovered two dead bodies including a local employee of the German Embassy from Rawal Dam on Wednesday.

The Secretariat police recovered the body of Saidpur resident Faiz Ali, 30, an employee in the visa section of German Embassy, and Ashar Ali of Rawalpindi, after a watchman at Rawal Dam informed the police about two bodies floating in the water.

The police reached the spot and collected the bodies after fishing out of the lake. Faiz Ali’s body was then handed over to the Aapbara police, as a kidnapping case naming him as the victim was registered with at Aabpara Police Station a few days back.

A police official said that the medical report confirmed that Faiz was strangulated, and that the boy was believed to be romantically involved with a girl living in Bhara Kahu. The girl is being considered a suspect, and a police team had been dispatched to arrest her.

Faiz’s parents told the police that they did not recognise the second body recovered by the police. According to the police, the deaths appear to be unrelated. However, they are still investigating.

Ashar Ali, the other deceased, was suspected to have committed suicide, according to a police source, who also said that the deceased had been a victim of depression for four years.
