Polio Eradication In Peshawar: 7 million children to get polio shots

The second phase of polio campaign will commence from March 20.

PESHAWAR: The second phase of polio campaign will commence from March 20 in high risk areas where more than 7 million children will be administered polio drops. Deputy Director of Expanded Polio Immunisation Dr Jan Baz Afridi said that in the first phase from March 12-14, children up to five years of age in 36 union councils of Peshawar were administered polio drops. In phase two, 56 union councils of Peshawar will be covered. Out of 92 union councils in Peshawar, ten have been declared high risk areas. Over two thousand polio teams will participate in the second phase of the polio eradication campaign.
