QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani expressed his concern over lack of interest on part of parliamentarians for the eradication of polio in Balochistan.

The province is worst affected by the debilitating disease.

Several MNA, MPA and Senators had been invited to attend a meeting regarding an anti-polio drive on Wednesday. However, only MPA Raheela Durrani of the PML-Q turned up.

The chief minister said that the government has planned to eradicate the virus by 2012 and public representatives have to improve their performance to achieve the set target. International donors expressed their anger during the meeting and remarked that representatives are not sincere to eradicate this virus.
