Development projects completed to counter water shortage in Bannu

The political administration of Frontier Region Bannu has completed various development schemes.

According to a notification issued by the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) Secretariat on Monday, a drinking water supply scheme has been completed in Koz Sam Dabara, Daryoba, which will benefit approximately 900 individuals.

Due to shortage of water, people had been facing great hardship in gaining access to potable water. Acting on their request, the administration installed a tube well and built a surface water storage tank in the area.

In addition to that, the administration has also completed similar projects for Zamare Kholo. They include installation of a submersible water pump, transformer and construction of a pump house and 37-metre boundary wall. The projects will benefit nearly 600 individuals.

To create a sense of ownership in the community, local skilled and unskilled labourers were hired, who worked closely with the political administration to ensure timely completion of the project.

Locals have expressed gratitude to the administration for fulfilling their demands.
