Tennis: Istomin advances in Florida

DELRAY BEACH: Denis Istomin saved all seven break points he faced en route to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Australian Matthew Ebden in the first round of the Delray Beach Tennis Championships. The Uzbekistani avenged a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Ebden in their only other career meeting in Brisbane last year.  In other first-round matches, Ryan Sweeting routed Donald Young 6-1, 6-1 and eighth-seed Bernard Tomic advanced with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Tommy Haas.
