Couldn’t the deal to buy more aircraft have waited till a new government was in place?
KARACHI: For a government that is nearing end of its tenure, why the undue haste in signing contracts for the induction of five Boeing 777s for the state-owned airline? Would someone kindly clarify when the bids for this contract were advertised in the media? And what was the response? Couldn’t the deal to buy more aircraft have waited till a new government was in place? If anything, that would have allowed the current government to deflect the criticism that it is bound to receive following what seems to be a rather hurried decision on the planes’ purchase.
