All kind of vehicles such as tractor trolleys, donkey carts and even bicycles are using Lahore’s Ring Road.
LAHORE: I am writing with reference to Rameez Khan’s article of January 12 titled “Urban planning: City’s traffic will get worse before it gets better”. All kind of vehicles such as tractor trolleys, donkey carts and even bicycles are using Lahore’s Ring Road, and this can be a major traffic hazard.
The roads is more of less like a highway and for a motorist to encounter such traffic while driving at, say, a speed of 100 kilometres per hour can cause a bad accident. Not only these ‘vehicles’ even animals and people use the Ring Road!
The most painful thing to see is the helplessness of the traffic wardens standing on the road sides. Every possible violation is being carried out in front of them but they just look on and do nothing. So should the government be blamed for this mess or should the blame lie on someone else’s shoulders?
