Defenders of Pakistan

Letter February 04, 2012
I would say that some of these organisations may be banned but they are not terrorist.

DUBAI: This is with reference to Tazeen Javed’s article of February 4 titled “The very excellent Difa-e-Pakisan Council”.

The writer has called some of the groups and organisations who are members of the Council as “banned terrorist organizations”. To that I would say that some of these organisations may be banned but they are not terrorist. They were involved in Kashmir for the sake of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, and that cannot be held against them.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba has been fighting in Kashmir but when our government banned it, it stopped its involvement there. Also, it has never taken part in any attack on the Pakistani military or on any Pakistani installation. These organisations are peaceful and if they talk of the defence of Pakistan what is so bad.
