Four people, including the security guard of the US consulate, were killed in separate firing incidents in Karachi, Express News reported on Monday.

Sub-inspector Anwar Sheikh, stationed outside the US consulate, was killed when a rifle accidentally fired off.

SP Baldia Haseeb Afzal Baig said that Sheikh's colleague had handed him his rifle after which the trigger pulled accidentally, killing Sheikh on the spot.

The SP termed the incident as an ‘accident’, where as the Medico Legal Officer said that the victim’s wound was a result of a targeted gunshot.

In a different incident, unidentified men gunned down a gatekeeper in the area of Gulistan-e-Johar and fled. The victim, identified as Asif Khan from Attock, was killed on the basis of personal enmity, claimed police sources.

A man named Muhammad Ayub was also killed by unknown men in the Empire Colony area of Orangi Town.

Separately, a dead body of a 30-year-old man was found behind a cinema in Lyari. The deceased was kidnapped and later killed after being hit with a bullet in the head.

The police has not arrested any culprits yet.
