SC verdict on memogate

Letter January 01, 2012

KARACHI: Your editorial of December 31 titled “SC verdict on memogate” was good and to the point.

Unfortunately, in our history, the apex court has hardly ever gone against military rule. The irony is that this action is now being undertaken based on the claims made by an American citizen who has in the past written vicious articles against the Pakistani state and its military. Also, his mentioning that the head of the ISI allegedly went to several friendly Arab states to reportedly brief them on a proposal of regime change in Pakistan has been completely ignored.

The next few weeks are not going to be good for the country because of the political uncertainty caused by all of this.
