PESHAWAR: The political administration of Khyber Agency on Wednesday recovered 16 labourers who had earlier been kidnapped by militants from the Landikotal sub-division.

The labourers, who were working on the house of tribal Malik Sultan had been kidnapped two weeks back. An official of the political administration told The Express Tribune that the kidnapped labourers were recovered during an operation in the Kam Shalman area earlier today.

"We had previously taken six suspects into custody, information retrieved from them led us to the location where the kidnapped were kept," said the official.

Militants had earlier destroyed two shrines in the Kam Shalman area, which borders Afghanistan.
