ISLAMABAD: The provinces have been asked to effectively run awareness campaigns to educate parents to administer anti-polio drops to their children during the national drive.
According to official sources, district health managers have been directed to properly manage the immunisation drives following the strategy. They have been asked to ensure 100% coverage during the national anti-polio drives and vaccinate the maximum number of children to protect them from the disease.
Officials added that due to the deteriorating law and order situation, health teams could not continue anti-polio drives in Swat which resulted in an increase in polio cases in the region.
