LAHORE: The US ambassador should be declared persona non grata and expelled from the country, demanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members on Thursday. They were protesting against the Nato attack on November 26 in which 26 army officials were killed.  The protesters chanted slogans against the US and burnt an effigy of General John Allen – who is the Nato Commander in Afghanistan – in front of the US consulate general. Mian Mehmoodul Rashid, Lahore chapter president, said that the time had come to stop fighting America’s war. “The US, which claims to be our ally is in fact our biggest enemy,” he said, adding that the government had “made the nation a slave of the US, for assistance dollars. If the government had reacted the way it is reacting now to earlier violations of our sovereignty, November 26 would never have happened, he said.
