Salman Butt appointed captain for England tour
Opening batsman Salman Butt was appointed captain of the Pakistan cricket team for the tour of England, on Saturday.

Salman Butt has been appointed as test captain and Kamran Akmal as vice captain of the team after retirement of Shahid Afrid from test cricket.
Sources said that Salman Butt was selected as captain following Chairman PCB Ejaz Butt’s meeting with team management and consultation with members of governing board.
Shahid Afridi made the decision that seemed inevitable from the day he took over as Test captain, by announcing his Test retirement immediately after leading his side to a 150 run loss against Australia at Lord’s.
The second test match of the home series between Australian and Pakistan will start from July 21st in Leeds.

Team should play at least for two years without any change whatsoever the results. Our bowling is strong but we need solid batsman at number 3,4,5 positions.
Salman butt or Younas khan can lead the team and perform well. The coach and the manager should be like minded people so that they can bring harmony among the team members.

I think Mr Ejaz Butt should captain the PAK TEAM himself now. He deserve it because of his irrational decision making or resign as PCB chief.Recommend
it was wxpected defeat as pakistani batting line is not strong in test matches. why selectors are not learning lessons from defeats in the test matches against australia. pakistani team needs younis and yousuf in the team. they both are experienced and still can play better cricket than any other batsman in pakistan. why asim kamal is being ignored consistenlty.
it is nice to see that new batsmans played and one of them seemed very effective for test matches. they should be given chance agains teams like india or srilanka.
pakistani bowling is very strong. they just need younis and yousuf back in the team. we have been suffering in test matches since we lost saeed anwar, amir sihail, inzimam, yousuf and younis.
i as a supporter of pakistani team humbly request selectors and chairman of board to take competent decisions in order to groom players specially for test matches.
salman butt is good choice for captaincy. he educated can face media bravery. pakistani team has gained the image of t 20 team which is not a real recognition on international level and this what javeed miandad said in one of his interview that pakitani batting will be ruined in test matches because of t 20.

i donot think it was a wise decision.it is not neccessary that a good player can be a good captain as wel although exceptions are always there.pcb chairman or committee had never given wise decision in past.i am sure they would spouil this boy as wel.

please believe in the ability of salman but as he is proving an asset for pakistani team. he is intelligent guy who learns from his mistakes. he is the right opening choice in three formates of circket.
as far as his captaincy is concern he can be assest as a captain in test matches as well. his exposure says he is very confident player who can face all kind of situations very positively and that’s what is expected from a captain specially in test matches.Recommend
