At gunpoint: Industrialist kidnapped from Landhi

KARACHI: An industrialist was kidnapped from Landhi industrial zone on Saturday night within the jurisdiction of Quaidabad police station.

Three armed men in a white Corolla intercepted Riaz Chinoy’s black Toyota Camry near Amna Mill and took him away at gunpoint. DSP Nasir Lodhi said that the kidnappers also shot once at a car when Chinoy put up a resistance.

They headed to Hussaini Chowrangi, Landhi. Chinoy is the son of the owner of a pipe factory where he was executive director. His security guard Khalid Pervez and driver Mehmood Khan are being questioned. Riaz’s cousin Murtaza, a lawyer, was murdered at his office off Zamzama at the end of August.
