LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Wednesday there will soon be “good news” regarding the Shahbaz Taseer abduction case and that the investigation team had informed him about the identity of the abductors, Express 24/7 reported.
He said this while talking to Express News in Mirpurkhas.

The investigation team comprises of officials from Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Intelligence bureau (IB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Punjab police.
He also said that disclosing the details of the kidnappers could put Taseer’s life in danger.
Furthermore, Sanaullah said that no one had contacted Taseer’s family or the government for ransom.
Although, he had claimed earlier that Taseer was kidnapped for ransom.
Taseer was abducted on August 26 from the Gulberg area of Lahore while he was on his way to the office by at least three armed men in an SUV.

Shahbaz Taseer, son of slain governor of Punjab Salmaan Taseer, who was kidnapped from Lahore a few weeks ago has still not been recovered. The government of Punjab should pursue this situation actively and work harder to track him. Furthermore Punjab law minister must be grilled in this regard. Lukewarm response on the part of Punjab Government is making the situation worse for the family of Shahbaz Taseer. Shahbaz Taseer’s life is at stake and therefore immediate action needs to be taken. Nothing positive has been achieved so far in this case and no substantive leads to the rescue trail have come to light yet. This is no doubt a very difficult and testing time for the Taseer family and it is about time their suffering is alleviated. The response of the government remains slow, and any attempts by the security agencies to recover Shahbaz Taseer remain futile, at least until now. This yet unresolved high profile kidnapping case is a cause for alarm for the ordinary citizen of Punjab who neither have the resources nor the influence possessed by the Taseer family to ensure their own safety.Recommend
