Mass graves in Indian Kashmir

Published: August 23, 2011

JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: An enquiry report by the Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission has revealed that more than 2,000 bullet-riddled dead bodies have been found buried in a number of unmarked graves in villages near the Line of Control (LoC). Claims by Indian officials that those buried in the unmarked graves were militants, mostly from Pakistan, should not come as a surprise. While the Indian forces are trigger-happy and kill sometimes without justification, some Pakistan-based jihadi groups have been involved in sending their men to fight in Indian Kashmir. And a number of these militants die while crossing the LoC. Therefore, we need to get to the bottom of the truth behind these mass graves. An independent investigation should be conducted to ascertain who is behind the deaths of so many people in Indian Kashmir.

    We? Who is we in this scenario?

    Look I understand the care but I think its just hypocritical. I understand a lot of bad things have happened in India from both the sides but Pakistanis always talk about neighboring region of Kashmir, while ignoring the neighboring region of Xinjiang or even their own region in Baluchistan.

    Things have turned for the good in Indian side of Kashmir. The incidents have gone down, people overwhelmingly participate in Elections, tourism is up,etc. The Hurriat and the likes are becoming redundant as we speak. They call for a boycott of elections nobody listens. In fact, 80% of the people didn’t listen in the recent panchayat level elections.

    This is similar to what happened in Punjab during the Khalistan movement phase. Things looked bad but it improved leaps and bounds. Today we have a Sikh PM. The same thing will be replicated with Kashmir.

    The thing with Democracies is that they learn and adapt.

    Send the DNA samples of cadres of JuD and its mentors. You will be surprised at the identities of those in “mass graves”. Pakistanis do not have the basic courtesy of reclaiming the bodies and burying their dead honourably. Recommend

    We Indians should be ashamed of it. We go around teaching morality to others and look at us.

    @Brute force…Get one thing in your mind that Kashmir is a disputed territory & even UN recognize it as a disputed territory…Neither Balochistan nor Xinjiang is a disputed territory….Example of Balochistan is simply like the example of Khalistan movement & 12 other movements within India, & Pakistan never points to any of those but Kashmir is not your part it is disputed & thus it is bone of contention b/w India & Pakistan & Pakistan has every right to protest against the genocides by Indian terrorists in Kashmir…

    @Aadersh:

    You cant even tell me the names of the 12 separatist movements..I challenge you.

    Kashmir is settled man. The dominant power is not ready to let go and Pakistan is too weak and unstable to do anything about it. UN matters little here. The people also vote overwhelmingly in elections(80% voted in panchayat elections).

    UN says Hafiz Saeed is a Terrorist. Does Pakistan arrest him? If a middle-lever Country like Pakistan is not willing to listen to UN why should a future Super Power like India should?

    Two things are for sure.
    1) India will not give Kashmir away under any circumstances.
    2) Kashmir will keep dragging Pakistan down.

    @BruteForce:
    Pakistan does not need a kashmir to go on a downward spiral as it’s doing right now, islam will do it for pakistan even if kashmir issue is resolved as per pakistan’s demands.
    Remember what our religion has told us in sanskrit .
    Ati Sarvatra Varjayet?
    (Overdoing of anything is strictly prohibited)
    And it stands for practicing religion also.
    That’s where islam has been hampering pychological development of pakistanis and muslims around the world in general.

    All the Muslins who don’t want to stay in Indian Kashmir can go to Pakistan. India will and is willing to keep Kashmir even if we have to finish off all these traitors. No appologies. Muslims have killed millions of hindus. It is time for pay back, for Turkish and Iranian muslims who slaughtered the hindus. Even if India have to desemate Pakistan and kill all these muslim trolls, no appology necessarry.

    @Thomas
    You are talking about Turkish and Iranian killings of hindus. Iran has very little hindus and Turkey has none at all. As for your statement about killing all muslims just to keep Kashmir let me tell you that in this day and age no crime will go unnoticed. When a superpower like USSR can collapse after being involved in an unjust war then I really don’t think India has much chance. India, after resolving the Kashmir issue (I’m not saying hand it over to Pakistan but make it an independent country), can become what Brazil is to South America, but the maneuvers of hindu nationalist parties can really spell doom for all that. Remember, a global power is only as strong as the other countries are willing to listen to it.Recommend
