SAARC interior secretaries meet in Islamabad

A meeting between interior secretaries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) was held in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: A meeting between interior secretaries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) was held in Islamabad.

Federal Interior Secretary Qamar Zaman Chaudhry presided over the meeting.

The issue of terrorism was discussed during the Saarc meeting.

Speaking to media in Islamabad Interior Secretary Chaudhry said Saarc addresses only multilateral issues. Indian Home Affairs Secretary Gopal K Pillai also reiterated this while speaking to the media, saying that Saarc is a multilateral forum and thus the issue of the Mumbai attacks was not discussed.
