UIT gets university status

Government to give Rs500,000 to such youngsters under the youth programme

KARACHI:

The Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) has been given the status of university by the Sindh government. Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail attended the inaugural ceremony of the varsity as a chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said, "Our youth are the future of the country. I am happy to attend the ceremony of an institution that is equipped with the latest technological facilities for which we send out children to study abroad." He further stated,

"I always enjoy talking to faculty members and students. UIT University has made this journey with great efforts and it is considered as one of the best institutions in the country,"

He congratulated the Chancellor of UIT University Hussain Hasham and the board members and added that the government has launched a successful youth programme because when a student graduates from an institution he or she thinks what to do next?

The government will give Rs500,000 to such youngsters under the youth programme. He stated, "There is a lot of talent in Pakistan. We must tell our stories of success to students and youngsters.’’
