US warns citizens of travelling to Pakistan

Updated Travel Warning for Pakistan says taliban carry hostile attitude towards US citizens.

Express August 09, 2011

The US State Department cautioned US citizens about the risks of travelling to Pakistan in an updated version of the Travel Warning for Pakistan. The update includes information about the ongoing security concerns in Pakistan.

A report by the Bureau of Consular Affairs stated that the al Qaeda, the Taliban and other militants carry a hostile attitude towards US citizens in particular and thus, pose a potential threat to them particularly in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province.

The US citizens who wish to travel to Pakistan despite the Travel Warning were encouraged to enroll with the US embassies in Pakistan which will enable them to receive security updates via the emergency alert system, said the report.

It also stated the several incidents of kidnapping, harassment, arrests and murders of US citizens that took place in Pakistan since January 2011.

It said that terrorists disguise themselves as security personnel “to seek opportunities to attack locations where US citizens and Westerners are known to congregate or visit.”

Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.Much the best warning for US citizens because USA itself is the most important base of creating terrorism and making terrorists in the world and Pakistan is the target of US-made Alqaeda/Taliban and this is why US officials are warning their citizens to travel to Pakistan. Here I advise US officials you must stop creating terrorism and making terrorists in the world especially in the muslim countries so that you couldn't release warnings to your citizens to travel to Islamic countries and spend your money to improve and boost up your economic ratings which you are loosing instead of wasting your precious money on the terrorism and terrorists.

@babar: I love the Pakistani habit of deflecting nearly everything by attempting to bring the other side down to their level. "We're not actively a danger to the world because you made a mistake or two in the past. Don't try to change the subject to reasons the things I say are wrong or irrelevant, either. You accidentally made someone stub their toe one time so our murders and kidnappings are completely reasonable and you are in no position to judge it!" All better. It fixes everything.
