ISLAMABAD:

Touted as the year’s most anticipated event for interiors enthusiasts, a moving road-show exhibition opened at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts here on Friday.

The event was hosted by Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) and featured works of the institute’s members, furniture designers and interior professionals amid other trade-specific attractions, such as seminars, profession-specific discussions and industry networking.

Leading Architecture and Design firms including Impact Designs International, Kamran Sheikh, Architects Inc, ASA and Najmi Bilgrami, displayed their work.

Usman Khan, PIID general secretary, said, “We need more innovation in the corporate sector for design. People need to understand that designed and conceptualised rooms and interiors last longer so the initial investment pays off in the long run.”

Another organiser said, “The exhibition is meant to acknowledge the efforts of hard-working interior professionals and reinstate the public’s trust and attention to the importance of the quality of our built environment.”

The exhibition was attended by members of Pakistan’s Interior Architecture and Design community, leading architects, interior designers, furniture designers, high profile industrial professionals, opinion leaders and artists from all over Pakistan.
