Pre-Monsoon Spell: Three to four days of rain expected

Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore and Karachi can expect to receive showers on Thursday and Friday.

ISLAMABAD: Metrological Department Director General Arif Mehmood said on Tuesday that the monsoon rains would continue in upper Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the current week. Speaking in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that the monsoon rains have formally started as the monsoon winds have begun entering the country with full force. He said that Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore are expected to be hit by heavy rains within the next few days, while Karachi can expect to receive showers on Thursday and Friday. Sporadic windstorms with heavy rains are expected in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir,

Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, while in the rest of the country, the weather will remain dry over the next 24 hours, he said. Kashmir, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will continue receiving showers for the next three to four days. People in these areas should prepare for the adverse weather.
