A revolutionary clean-up

Letter June 23, 2011
Some innocents will also be killed, but for Pakistan, a million lives is a small price to pay for future prosperity.

RAWALPINDI: Pakistanis seem to have a perpetual problem: Criticise wholeheartedly and vehemently, and then sit back as if a great national responsibility has been fulfilled.

No one has the vision to suggest a result oriented line of action.

With the cancerous malaise gnawing at the entrails and edifice of Pakistan, there has to be a massive and revolutionary cleanup a’ la Iran. Our politicians, like the proverbial dog’s tail, cannot be straightened out. It is my heartfelt conviction, and I am sure I voice the sentiments of all sincere Pakistanis, that anybody who has been anybody in politics must be eliminated. Our politics is hereditary, and not democratic. If even one seed is missed, it will grow into another all-devouring monster which will feed on the nation with renewed, insatiable hunger.

Yes, some innocents will also be killed, but for Pakistan, a million lives is a small price to pay for future prosperity.
