Working past retirement age

Letter May 10, 2011
The Supreme Court has already noted that the government should terminate the contracts of officers past retirement age

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to an article in your newspaper of May 6 titled “Cardiologist refuses to retire”. It was based on a doctor at a government hospital in Islamabad who had been given numerous extensions.

The Supreme Court has already noted that the government should terminate the contracts of all those officers who are past the age of retirement but still in government service. One can only wonder why this particular government hospital in the federal capital is defying the apex court’s directive.
