LAHORE:

Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said on Monday that the government needed to change its foreign policy and withdraw itself from the war against terror.

He said that despite the huge losses of life and property suffered by Pakistanis in the so-called war against terror, the United States did not trust the government and its security agencies and carried out the Abbottabad operation without their knowledge. This, he said, was a clear indicator of the failure of our foreign policy.

He was speaking at the JI workers convention and membership campaign in Ghulam Muhammadabad. He said war-against-terror was not Pakistan’s war and that it had already put up with loss ode thousands of precious lives and a setback to its economy. He said it was high time people demand the government of pulling out of the war.

The Abbotabad operation, he said, had exposed how ineffective the departments concerned had become. He said the US had violated Pakistan’s sovereignty by conducting an armed raid inside its territory but the government could not muster up the courage to condemn the action.
