MNA Hameedullah Jan Afridi said that the sense of deprivation in Khyber Agency would be dispelled by initiating development and public welfare activities in neglected areas and efforts should be made to acquire adequate funds to carry out infrastructure development schemes in such areas.

According to a press release, he expressed these views in Islamabad on Wednesday while talking to the representatives from Khyber, Jamrud and Tirah areas of Khyber Agency. He said that during the past three years, although a number of development schemes have been completed in these areas, people are still facing hardships in getting basic amenities and every possible effort would be made to mitigate their suffering.

Afridi asked international donor agencies to focus their attention on rebuilding areas of FATA which had been damaged during the War on Terror and extend help to people who had been deprived of their belongings and compelled to live in IDP camps in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier, the representatives from Khyber Agency briefed Afridi on the problems in their areas and demanded appropriate action to resolve the grievances of the inhabitants.
