ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Dr Attaur Rahman’s excellent and very timely article of April 5 titled “Time to save the Higher Education Commission”.
All those who are directly benefitting from the HEC’s scholarships need to raise their voice and be heard, and they need to do this right now. From Dr Rahman’s article and several others in this, and other newspapers, it seems that the Commission should not be devolved to the provinces. However, we cannot be sure of anything, until the government clearly says that it is not moving forward with this plan. And that will materialise only, if there is follow-up of the wide media coverage that the issue is receiving of late.
