Protesters have threatened to shut down power grids unless the sacked employees are reinstated.
KARACHI: The KESC joint action committee threatened the administration of a complete blackout in Karachi, if the 294 sacked employees of KESC are not reinstated on Friday.
The sacked employees held a protest demonstration in front of State Life Building in Karachi in this regard.
They warned to shut down all grid stations. The employees said they will also demand the government to reverse KESC’s privitisation.
The Karachi Electric Supply Corporation dismissed the 294 employees on charges of misconduct and poor performance last month.

In my opinion the demand of accused of misconduct is 100% right since when the complete set of people who are in the decision making positions have been accused now or earlier with large scale corruption cases, misconduct and misuse of their powers and the most indispensable and the Pakistan’s Einstein Mr. Jamshed Dasti can be reinstated by one way of or the other then why not these small thieves.
Pakistan is paradise for such people and is their mandate to keep offices and positions. Government should protect the future of Pakistan may be any one of these will grow and brighten the name of the country even more then Mr. Asif Ali Zardai, Mr. Altaf Hussain, Mr, Pervaiz Mushraf, Mr. Nawaz Sharif, and so on we have such a gem of person in this field that is unbeliveable.Recommend
KESC administration should not be threatened by these Ghundas, these goons were employed on political quota for doing nothing — now they should be kicked out from the organization.Recommend
What is the criterion of performance in KESC?
KESC after privatization cannot perform well and its performance is totally unacceptable.
This means that performance of KESC management is very poor then how come management of KESC expects its lower grade employees to perform well?
On one hand KESC is increasing its tariff for the consumers and on the other hand retrenching its employees to curtail its expenses in order to earn more profits?
KESC is committing economical murder of its consumers as well as of its employees.Recommend
KESC has doing misconduct act with his workers/officers day by day. their basis problems of power generation is totally poor, and we are facing 6 to 8 hour loadshedding in 24 hours. our industries are mostly demaged. but they are terminating employees without assigning any reason/charge.

294 were terminated by KESC administration without any prior reason and notification. Efficiency and Disciplinary Rules (E&D) of KESC and Water Management are against Article 22-24 of IRA 2010 and thus Constitution of Pakistan. E&D rules are also sheer violation of privatization agreement.Recommend
