KARACHI: Unidentified suspects left a child in an injured condition in a dumping yard in Korangi, after subjecting her to sexual abuse on Thursday.

The girl, who is said to be six to seven years old, had cuts on her throat and forearms, the Ibrahim Hyderi police said, adding that she was rushed to Civil Hospital, Karachi. According to a medico-legal officer at the hospital, the girl has been subjected to sexual abuse. “The girl was brought in semi-conscious state,” the officer said, adding that her condition has improved. “She is, however, still in shock,” he said, adding that she has managed to tell her and her father’s name.

The police said that they are clueless about who was behind this act and they are working on the case. “At first, we are trying to locate the child’s family,” a police officer at Ibrahim Hyderi police station claimed, adding that the girl said Mithi in Tharparkar is her home town.
