Dozens held in Peshawar raids: ISPR

Those detained include five Afghan nationals

Pakistan Army and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) personnel nabbed 58 suspects in joint operations across Peshawar, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to the ISPR, the suspects were apprehended late Saturday night from Shaheen Town, Warsak Road, Dalazak and Pakka Ghulam areas of the provincial capital. At least five of those detained were Afghans, the military’s media wing said. “A  large amount of weapons and drugs were recovered from their possession,” it said.

Crackdown in Peshawar: IBOs planned against Fourth Schedulers

The development came less than a month after a team was constituted to conduct sweeping intelligence based operations (IBOs) in Peshawar against people named in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Individuals from nine proscribed organisations had been identified on this account.
