LAHORE: Government will start pumping 11,000MW into the electricity system to address the energy crisis after completion of the hydropower projects and restoration of the existing transmission system, said Federal Planning & Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Saturday.

He was speaking at the 2nd alumni reunion arranged by the University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Lahore on Saturday.

He added the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was the gateway of progress, in which large economies were also showing interest.

“The competitive world demands expertise and scientific approach to deliver progress,” he said.

“China has agreed to develop nine industrial zones that will enhance rapid industrialisation to cope with unemployment and economic instability.”
