Waqar Zaka in Aleppo

Letter January 02, 2017
Waqar made all of us proud by helping victims in Syria

KARACHI: Waqar Zaka, television host and stunt performer, is the first Pakistani to enter Aleppo after the civil war started. It is no easy task to get to the city but he reached to record what is happening and show it to us. His work deserves praise. He took a family from Aleppo to Kilis, a border city in Turkey and rented a furnished house for them. He also helped a 20-year-old widow and her family.

When the entire world was busy partying on New Year’s eve, Waqar Zaka celebrated by helping Syrian children in Aleppo. If Waqar Zaka’s pictures with Ayyan Ali can be in the headlines, his humanitarian efforts should be, too. Waqar made all of us proud by helping victims in Syria and shining a spotlight not only on himself but also Pakistan. We should further support him in his work.
