BB murder case: ATC issues third arrest warrant for Musharraf

Musharraf has been declared a proclaimed offender by the same court twice before this.

RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Saturday issued non bailable arrest warrants for former president Pervez Musharraf for the third time in the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

Musharraf has been declared a proclaimed offender by the same court twice before this. He is thought to be a key witness and an enabler of the plot to kill former prime minister Benzair Bhutto.

The FIA has also submitted a formal request with Interpol to secure the extradition of Musharaf from the United Kingdom. Earlier, the government had said that it would seek extradition of Musharraf from the United Kingdom for his alleged connection to the assassination Benazir Bhutto. According to Express 24/7correspondent Syed Ali earlier reports had indicated that the British government had refused to extradite Musharraf.

Earlier today, prosecution lawyers of the trial boycotted proceedings of the court, after being denied entry into the courtroom.

The lawyers, Chaudhry Altaf and Chaudhry Zulfiqar, complained that Adiala prisons police did not allow them to enter the courtroom as the judge had not arrived. They said it was a common practice for the lawyers to enter the courtroom earlier than the judge.

However, the superintendent of the Adiala Jail said the lawyers wanted to enter the courtroom along with Rangers.

MAZY | 13 years ago | Reply My observation is that the two main party, the ruling government and friendly opposition are involved in Raymond Davis case,they were helping CIA through the TTP to build terrorism.If you remember that Nawaz/shahbaz sharif and some of PMLN... are deadly against Musharraf and the army.WHY AND HOW it is because they were backed by some power with money and morally.Movement against musharraf and to defamed ARMY was funded with huge money to all politicans,media civil buricracy including Human rights/civil society.They succeded to some extent and the country would have been destablise giving all blame to ARMY.Atizaz Hassan is an indian agent and he did the movement with chief justice and his getting award from Havard is to prove to 18 crore public that courts under chief justice is independent and CJ is clean but hats off to musharraf and his team who worked quietly to know the fact which is proving now.Keep in mind CIA plays active role and the government plus friendly opposition together did superb acting and they were against PAKISTAN.NAWAZ SHARIF is a dangerous man he tried to play against getting musharraf involved in BB's case.To me it looks that some of PPP and Nawaz are involved including Atizaz Ashan in BB's assisnation.Rayond Davis will open all what happened.WE SALUTE OUR ARMY AND ISI FOR GREAT JOB.WE ALL SHOULD PRAY TO ALLAH FOR LONG LIFE OF MUSHARRAF AND THE ARMY.

Why are we wasting time trying to bring back a dead horse like Musharraf? If our courts and justice system is so fair, it should try the Hajj scam persons first, including the son of descendants of Ghaus Paak..

Musharraf is the only hope for our beloved country , but the corrupt elements in Pakistan are trying to keep way all the honest people so that they can go to any extent of corruption judiciary,media and political parties all are responsible for such chaos in country most of the youth in Pakistan have now realized that President Musharaf is the hope for change in our country ..........

It is an admitted fact that his arrest is beyond the prosecution. As for as court order is concerned,it is a part of legal procedure criminal legal procedure in Pakistan.

Please stop citing this as an example of free and fair judicial process. Arrest warrants before completion of an inquiry? and then three back to back arrest warrants? what is this, intimidation tactics? It may be cavalier and flashy, but this isn't a fair process. Express your suspicion of a crime, run the course of judicial investigations, issue arrest warrants if found guilty and then get any former or sitting public office holder. But sorry to say, this particular court is interested in making headlines, not headway towards justice.

He had warned her about situation in the country and asked her to stay abroad until elections. That was agreement between them, but BB and PPP always break their promises and ageements. PPP needed a Shaheed of modern times, as ZAB's charisma was fading away.

Khalid Rahim | 13 years ago | Reply This story is very familiar to the death of late Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi when late Z A Bhutto and four others were accused of the crime, One became a state witness the other three were told if the co operated they would be let off. Eventually all three were hanged after Z A Bthutto was sent to death. The two police officers accused are in the same situation, except that General Musharraf is safely protected by Mossad.

Our politicians as well as the judiciary do not want Musharraf to take part in politics because being honest Musharraf does not deserve to rule. Which means the nation has to live with corrupt mafias.

General Musharraf said Oh I think I am serving Pakistan more efficiently' But time proved what he did the proof is following arrest warrants from Pakistan. Very shame full for Pakistan.
