Illegal allotments: KDA official arrested by NAB

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Karachi, arrested on Tuesday an officer of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) for his alleged involvement in china-cutting.

The accused, Muhammad Shakir alias Shakir Langra, son of Muhammad Shafi, was taken into custody during a raid in Federal B Area.

According to NAB, Karachi, spokesperson, the accused person is nominated in reference No 46/2016, adding that Shakir was nominated along with 14 other KDA officers and private persons for involvement in illegal allotments and china-cutting in Surjani Town.

The spokesperson further said that the accused was charged of making illegal allotments and transferred files to create 281 residential plots on 14 amenity areas of Surjani Town through china-cutting.

Later, these plots were sold to private persons, causing loss of Rs168 million to the national exchequer, added the spokesperson.
