Student environmental effort

Nevertheless, this event on November 26 deserves to receive some fame

RAWALPINDI: Recently, a friend of mine informed me about how she and the environmental club at her university successfully carried out a cleanliness drive in Saidpur Village, Islamabad. It brings me great sorrow that something so significant was given no publicity, nor any appreciation. It is not that the club carried out this activity for some sort of fame; the team members were a group of environmentally and socially conscious people working to make a difference in their community, even if on a smaller level. Nevertheless, this event on November 26 deserves to receive some fame. It must also be kept in mind that Saidpur Village is not only a tourist attraction but a housing colony. It is projects like these that encourage others to work towards a cleaner Pakistan — something that we are in dire need of.
