Unhygienic food sales

Letter November 22, 2016
I strongly request the authorities to please take this issue seriously

SWABI: The sale of unhygienic edibles for children is destroying our new generation like drugs. Many stomach and kidney diseases among children are due to the consumption of low quality local snacks. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, every small shop is full of such products. Shopkeepers are fully aware of the drastic consequences of these items but it has become a lucrative business for them. There is a huge profit margin in selling local edibles, which is why shopkeepers opt for them instead of quality products. I strongly request the authorities to please take this issue seriously and put a quality check in place as soon as possible.
