Quetta bleeds again

Letter October 28, 2016
It is impossible to see a single minister roam about the country without guards in public and private spaces

TURBAT: The attack at the Quetta police training centre hostel leaves many hearts with grief. Many of them, if not all, were Baloch. The families of the martyred are left in immense pain and mourning of their lost young sons. Many among them were the sole earners in their families and fathers of toddlers.

It is impossible to see a single minister roam about the country without guards in public and private spaces. If that is the horrific state of matters in Pakistan, how was it that such a vulnerable security target, full with newly hired police trainees, was left without force and firearms at night, without adequate protection?
