India and Pakistan

Letter October 22, 2016
India and Pakistan should sit together and discuss their reservations

KANDIARO: After the great sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of years, man’s imagination has improved in knowledge, acquiring technical skills, quality of life and in social cohesion, but not so far as can be judged in present times looking at India and Pakistan. It seems both countries have gone back to barbaric times and have lost intellectual capacity. Social media users are already in a war-like mood on both sides.

A war between the two nuclear power countries is not a joke. Its consequences will be ugly, as it will wreak havoc, mass destruction and economic loss. We and our counterparts know very well that the past picture of relations is dismal. Rather than playing the blame game and showing carelessness, India and Pakistan should sit together and discuss their reservations. Dialogue is the most respected and acceptable way to restore misunderstandings between the two countries. Moreover, a collective fight against non-state actors is required in the region.
