Another death in Kashmir

Letter October 14, 2016
This situation shows the brute side of India

LARKANA: Once again, India committed a barbaric act by killing 12-year-old Junaid Ahmed and firing shotgun pellets and tear gas when thousands of people carried his body for burial. Junaid’s body was covered in Pakistani flag with pro-freedom slogans written on it. Meanwhile, police and paramilitary personnel fired warning shots and tear gas to prevent violence as the crowed was heatedly chanting, “Go India, go back” and “we want freedom.” On the other side, India recently claimed surgical strikes, threatening war and has been taking Pakistani spy pigeons in their custody. This situation not only shows the brute side of India, but also its fear to lose its rule in the disputed Himalayan region. India’s panic is driving its actions in Kashmir by suppressing the Kashmiris’ voice and blaming Pakistan for irrelevant reasons.

Though we have given a good response to India’s unjustifiable claims and actions, much more is required to show full support to our Kashmiri brothers, like banning Indian products and dramas that we have been watching with full enthusiasm.
