QUETTA: Frontier Corps Balochistan claimed to have killed a wanted terrorist, Zafar Bugti, in an exchange of fire with security forces near Notal.

Commandant FC Sibi Scouts Colonel Zulfiqar Bajwa told media persons that a FC patrolling party noted suspicious movement near Notal Railway track and cordoned off the area.

“Zafar Bugti, a wanted terrorist, who was working for the Baloch Republican Army was killed while attempting to plant an explosive device near railway track,” he said.

“He was an absconder and was wanted in 55 cases including target killing and bomb blasts,” Colonel Bajwa added.

Bugti was nominated in the target killing of Local Government Engineer Miraj Umrani and his wife and children near Mithri in 2014.

“Bugti was a fervent commander of outlawed BRA and wanted in target killings of more than 50 people,” Commandant Sibi Scouts told the media.
