Targetted operations: Over two dozen suspects held

KARACHI: Over two dozen suspects were apprehended during ongoing operations in the city on Monday.

About a dozen suspects were arrested by the police during an overnight raid in PIB Colony.

DSP Nasir Lodhi said that the operation was conducted against criminals, in which around 12 alleged drug peddlers were arrested when the police raided their drug den.

The police also recovered weapons and narcotics from them. Similarly, 11 suspects were apprehended during a targeted operation at some guesthouses and hotels near the Cantonment Station in District South. Police officials said they were arrested as they did not have proper documentation. Meanwhile, the Rangers conducted raids in New Karachi and Korangi, during which seven criminals were arrested.

The accused include six drug peddlers and one target killer, while weapons, ammunition and narcotics were also seized from their possession.
