Jinnah Hospital doctor elected unopposed for general secy office

LAHORE: The election commission of Pakistan Medical Association’s (PMA) Punjab chapter has announced that the association’s annual election for 2016-2017 will be held on September 25.

The polling will be held through secret ballot and voters have been advised to bring their national identity (CNIC) and PMDC cards.

According to a press release issued on Sunday, Kamran Saeed from Lahore’s Services Hospital has been elected unopposed general secretary and Muhammad Aleem Nawaz from Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital finance secretary following the scrutiny of nomination papers and withdrawal of some candidates.

Muhammad Irfan from Faisalabad’s Allied Hospital, Sikandar Hayyat Warraich from Sargodha DHQ, Rana Sohail from Mayo Hospital, Shahzad Tahir Chaudhry from Sahiwal DHQ, Najeebur Rehman from Muzafargarh DHQ and Najam Jamshaid from Multan DHQ have been elected unopposed as regional vice presidents.

Rai Muhammad Arif (Faisalabad), Muhammad Maqsood Zahid (Gujrat), Muhammad Abbas Chaudhry (Gujrat), Sikandar Hayyat Warraich (Sargodha) and Sahibzada Syed Masoodus Syed (Sialkot) will contest for the office of the Punjab president.

Yasmeen Ehsan (Lahore), Syed Shabbir Akhtar (Jhelum), Muhammad Sajjad Akhter (Multan) and Imran Rafique (Multan) will vie for the joint secretary office.

Muhammad Tariq Sahi (Jhelum), Zakaullah Warraich (Rawalpindi), Arshad Mehmood Malik (Chakwal), Abdul Shakoor Malik (Jhelum), Abdul Sattar (Gujrat), Mehfooz Ahmed (Gujrat) and Sahibzada Masoodus Syed (Silakot) are in the race for the vice president office.
