The Fata reforms bill is likely to be tabled in the National Assembly on the same date.
Participants of the forum demanded the government remove reservations of the lawyers and reduce the given time line of five years to merge Fata with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
“The process should be completed before general elections in 2018 so that tribal people could get due representation in the national and provincial assemblies,” Peshawar High Court Bar President Wali Khan Afridi said at a meeting in PHC bar room on Tuesday. “The government should give Rs1 million for a damaged house, and Rs0.5 million for a destroyed shop and 5% quota in the National Finance Commission Award.”
Meanwhile, the Fata Political Alliance announced a protest on September 8 against the federal government’s delaying tactics to merge Fata with K-P.
