RAWALPINDI: A passenger aircraft belonging to a private airline on Monday made an emergency landing at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport about 15 minutes after it took off for Sharjah. Sources in the Civil Aviation Association (CAA) said that the flight (PA-212) took off from the airport at about 3:30pm. The pilot, however, contacted the air traffic control, informing it about the emergency landing necessitated by some technical fault in the plane’s engine. As many as 150 passengers were on board the plane, who remained unhurt, the sources said. According to the sources, engineers of the airline were examining the plane at the airport till the filing of this report. The CAA Spokesperson, Fariha Shah, however, insisted that no emergency landing took place at the BBIA.
